Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Materials, Consumer Staples and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC lost 0.22%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA), which rose 1.53% or 0.550 points to trade at 36.400 at the close. Meanwhile, America Movil L , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AMXL) added 1.40% or 0.170 points to end at 12.330 and Grupo Televisa SA (MX:TLVACPO) was up 1.21% or 1.030 points to 86.270 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX), which fell 3.19% or 0.570 points to trade at 17.290 at the close. Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB) declined 3.03% or 0.97 points to end at 31.06 and Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) was down 2.35% or 10.350 points to 430.570.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 128 to 110 and 8 ended unchanged.
Gold for February delivery was down 0.36% or 4.30 to $1186.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 3.87% or 1.82 to hit $45.26 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.13% or 0.06 to trade at $47.27 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.03% to 20.6230, while EUR/MXN rose 0.02% to 21.9590.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.23% at 100.98.
