Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Financial Services, Healthcare and Consumer Goods & Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC fell 0.13%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO), which rose 2.38% or 0.320 points to trade at 13.750 at the close. Meanwhile, Controladora Comercial Mexicana UBC (MX:COMEUBC) added 1.70% or 0.820 points to end at 49.000 and Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) was up 1.65% or 3.890 points to 241.250 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico (MX:SANMEXB), which fell 3.38% or 1.000 points to trade at 28.620 at the close. Gruma, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GRUMAB) declined 1.81% or 3.990 points to end at 216.250 and Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB) was down 1.55% or 0.240 points to 15.320.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 87 to 68 and 11 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.25% or 2.70 to $1092.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.85% or 0.82 to hit $43.84 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.89% or 0.94 to trade at $48.59 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 1.07% to 16.1507, while EUR/MXN fell 0.77% to 17.6981.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.19% at 97.69.
