Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Materials, Industrials and Consumer Staples sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC fell 0.02%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Empresas ICA , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICA), which rose 8.92% or 0.340 points to trade at 4.150 at the close. Meanwhile, America Movil L , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AMXL) added 1.94% or 0.210 points to end at 11.060 and Telesites SAB de CV (MX:SITESB1) was up 1.71% or 0.190 points to 11.300 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO), which fell 3.45% or 0.530 points to trade at 14.840 at the close. Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA) declined 2.40% or 0.800 points to end at 32.520 and Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) was down 1.74% or 7.860 points to 444.920.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 89 to 64 and 8 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.33% or 4.35 to $1325.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.18% or 0.55 to hit $47.32 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 1.18% or 0.58 to trade at $49.63 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.47% to 18.3689, while EUR/MXN fell 0.35% to 20.7181.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.01% at 94.72.
