Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Materials, Industrials and Consumer Staples sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC gained 2.67%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO), which rose 5.94% or 0.720 points to trade at 12.920 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GCARSOA1) added 6.31% or 4.260 points to end at 71.850 and Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX) was up 5.33% or 1.130 points to 22.430 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banregio Grupo Financiero SAB De CV (MX:GFREGIOO), which fell 0.64% or 0.590 points to trade at 90.200 at the close. Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA) added 0.74% or 2.140 points to end at 287.320 and Controladora Comercial Mexicana UBC (MX:COMEUBC) was down 0.34% or 0.160 points to 47.510.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 136 to 32 and 6 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.09% or 1.00 to $1125.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 10.82% or 4.17 to hit $42.77 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 10.56% or 4.55 to trade at $47.70 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.86% to 16.8685, while EUR/MXN fell 1.37% to 18.9800.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.47% at 95.75.
