Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Materials, Telecoms Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC rose 1.27%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES), which rose 3.32% or 14.930 points to trade at 464.050 at the close. Meanwhile, Banregio Grupo Financiero SAB De CV (MX:GFREGIOO) added 3.07% or 3.330 points to end at 111.810 and Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB) was up 3.04% or 1.17 points to 39.62 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX), which fell 2.45% or 0.620 points to trade at 24.710 at the close. Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA) declined 2.40% or 1.080 points to end at 43.900 and Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (MX:BOLSAA) was down 1.99% or 0.640 points to 31.480.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 128 to 38 and 11 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was up 1.45% or 19.15 to $1337.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 3.43% or 1.51 to hit $45.56 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 2.57% or 1.18 to trade at $47.06 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.38% to 19.7319, while EUR/MXN fell 0.11% to 22.0668.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.48% at 95.51.
