Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Materials, Industrials and Consumer Staples sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC added 1.21%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX), which rose 6.24% or 1.280 points to trade at 21.800 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA) added 3.83% or 10.710 points to end at 292.970 and Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:BIMBOA) was up 3.56% or 1.470 points to 42.790 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB), which fell 12.77% or 2.060 points to trade at 13.920 at the close. Empresas ICA , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICA) declined 5.20% or 0.390 points to end at 7.070 and Banregio Grupo Financiero SAB De CV (MX:GFREGIOO) was down 1.67% or 1.540 points to 90.130.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 114 to 46 and 4 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was down 1.09% or 12.30 to $1114.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.25% or 0.12 to hit $45.34 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.56% or 0.27 to trade at $48.50 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.74% to 16.8997, while EUR/MXN fell 1.39% to 18.8849.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.37% at 96.42.
