Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Industrials, Consumer Staples and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC rose 0.95%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Grupo Financiero Inbursa, SAB De CV (MX:GFINBURO), which rose 3.60% or 1.350 points to trade at 39.000 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX:GFNORTEO) added 3.43% or 2.920 points to end at 87.800 and Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GCARSOA1) was up 3.23% or 2.030 points to 65.200 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo Elektra, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA), which fell 2.07% or 8.560 points to trade at 404.010 at the close. Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB) declined 1.85% or 0.840 points to end at 44.480 and Empresas ICA, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICA) was down 1.67% or 0.210 points to 12.410.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 67 to 58 and 13 ended unchanged.
Gold for April delivery was down 0.59% or 7.10 to $1197.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 5.69% or 2.92 to hit $48.51 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 5.07% or 3.00 to trade at $56.19 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.68% to 15.2358, while EUR/MXN rose 0.70% to 16.5965.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.07% at 97.61.
