Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financial Services, Materials and Telecoms Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC rose 0.94%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES), which rose 4.60% or 20.200 points to trade at 458.900 at the close. Meanwhile, Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX) added 3.61% or 0.830 points to end at 23.820 and Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (MX:GFINBURO) was up 3.48% or 1.050 points to 31.250 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA), which fell 5.48% or 1.750 points to trade at 30.210 at the close. Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALFAA) declined 2.27% or 0.700 points to end at 30.200 and Nemak SAB de CV (MX:NEMAKA) was down 1.66% or 0.36 points to 21.29.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 97 to 73 and 5 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.52% or 6.55 to $1263.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.24% or 0.62 to hit $50.56 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.82% or 0.42 to trade at $51.94 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 1.33% to 18.6158, while EUR/MXN fell 1.50% to 20.4398.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.03% at 97.89.
