Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Materials, Healthcare and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC added 0.86%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were VOLARIS A (MX:VOLARA), which rose 4.16% or 1.18 points to trade at 29.54 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB) added 3.95% or 2.330 points to end at 61.280 and Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GCARSOA1) was up 3.49% or 2.640 points to 78.380 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX), which fell 2.58% or 0.460 points to trade at 17.340 at the close. Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA) declined 2.44% or 0.820 points to end at 32.800 and Infraestructura Energetica Nova SAB (MX:IENOVA) was down 2.06% or 1.83 points to 86.83.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 174 to 97 and 8 ended unchanged.
Shares in Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB) rose to all time highs; up 3.95% or 2.330 to 61.280. Shares in Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA) fell to 52-week lows; falling 2.44% or 0.820 to 32.800.
Gold for February delivery was down 0.48% or 5.65 to $1172.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.30% or 0.67 to hit $51.01 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.09% or 0.05 to trade at $54.24 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.02% to 20.5880, while EUR/MXN fell 0.06% to 22.1562.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.59% at 100.16.
