Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Financial Services, Consumer Staples and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC gained 0.80% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX), which rose 6.71% or 1.630 points to trade at 25.990 at the close. Meanwhile, Banregio Grupo Financiero SAB De CV (MX:GFREGIOO) added 2.77% or 2.360 points to end at 87.320 and Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (MX:BOLSAA) was up 2.44% or 0.660 points to 27.750 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Industrias CH, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICHB), which fell 2.78% or 1.820 points to trade at 63.560 at the close. Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico (MX:SANMEXB) declined 0.87% or 0.270 points to end at 30.640 and Arca Continental, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AC) was down 0.82% or 0.800 points to 96.270.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 83 to 51 and 13 ended unchanged.
Gold for June delivery was up 0.46% or 5.40 to $1187.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.78% or 0.46 to hit $59.40 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 0.13% or 0.09 to trade at $65.45 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 1.25% to 15.1273, while EUR/MXN fell 1.76% to 16.9533.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.15% at 94.87.
