Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financial Services, Consumer Staples and Telecoms Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC rose 0.74%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Banregio Grupo Financiero SAB De CV (MX:GFREGIOO), which rose 5.03% or 4.380 points to trade at 92.150 at the close. Meanwhile, Coca-Cola Femsa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:KOFL) added 2.63% or 3.020 points to end at 118.000 and Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX:WALMEX) was up 2.63% or 0.990 points to 38.660 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Infraestructura Energetica Nova SAB (MX:IENOVA), which fell 3.22% or 2.49 points to trade at 75.04 at the close. Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX) declined 2.53% or 0.550 points to end at 21.150 and PINFRA SAB De CV (MX:PINFRA) was down 2.27% or 4.080 points to 175.950.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 75 to 72 and 11 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was down 1.35% or 15.40 to $1122.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 1.04% or 0.41 to hit $38.90 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.91% or 0.40 to trade at $43.60 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 1.03% to 17.0296, while EUR/MXN fell 2.71% to 19.2829.
The US Dollar Index was up 1.48% at 95.30.
