Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms Services, Consumer Staples and Financial Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC added 0.48%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Empresas ICA , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICA), which rose 4.27% or 0.160 points to trade at 3.910 at the close. Meanwhile, Banregio Grupo Financiero SAB De CV (MX:GFREGIOO) added 2.16% or 2.270 points to end at 107.580 and Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX) was up 1.56% or 0.400 points to 26.110 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA), which fell 1.71% or 4.570 points to trade at 262.510 at the close. Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA) declined 1.48% or 0.520 points to end at 34.590 and Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA) was down 0.91% or 0.420 points to 45.760.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 104 to 53 and 6 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.02% or 0.20 to $1326.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 1.39% or 0.66 to hit $46.98 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 1.48% or 0.74 to trade at $49.41 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.22% to 18.6156, while EUR/MXN rose 0.02% to 20.8275.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.05% at 95.53.
