Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Materials, Consumer Staples and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC gained 0.19% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Coca-Cola Femsa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:KOFL), which rose 3.92% or 4.830 points to trade at 127.780 at the close. Meanwhile, Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) added 3.89% or 10.530 points to end at 280.500 and Mexichem, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEXCHEM) was up 2.62% or 1.170 points to 45.600 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB), which fell 2.30% or 0.390 points to trade at 16.630 at the close. Infraestructura Energetica Nova SAB (MX:IENOVA) declined 1.83% or 1.54 points to end at 82.65 and Alsea, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALSEA) was down 1.61% or 0.770 points to 47.050.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 65 to 60 and 4 ended unchanged.
Gold for June delivery was up 1.93% or 23.00 to $1215.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 1.08% or 0.66 to hit $60.09 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.71% or 0.48 to trade at $66.90 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.38% to 15.2791, while EUR/MXN rose 0.78% to 17.3365.
The US Dollar Index was down 1.02% at 93.74.
