Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Healthcare, Financial Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC rose 0.17% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA), which rose 2.76% or 0.600 points to trade at 22.100 at the close. Meanwhile, Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB) added 2.56% or 0.430 points to end at 17.290 and Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (MX:BOLSAA) was up 2.24% or 0.630 points to 28.820 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX), which fell 1.20% or 0.300 points to trade at 24.520 at the close. Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB) declined 1.17% or 0.39 points to end at 33.00 and Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO) was down 1.02% or 0.160 points to 15.480.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 76 to 57.
Gold for June delivery was down 0.04% or 0.50 to $1224.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.30% or 0.18 to hit $60.36 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.85% or 0.56 to trade at $66.25 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.74% to 15.1199, while EUR/MXN fell 0.40% to 17.1074.
The US Dollar Index was up 1.00% at 94.22.
