Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Materials, Consumer Staples and Consumer Goods & Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC rose 0.11%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Gruma SAB de CV (MX:GRUMAB), which rose 1.64% or 4.120 points to trade at 255.730 at the close. Meanwhile, Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA) added 1.07% or 0.380 points to end at 35.880 and Fomento Economico Mexicano UBD (MX:FMSAUBD) was up 0.99% or 1.710 points to 174.340 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:BIMBOA), which fell 1.44% or 0.790 points to trade at 54.090 at the close. Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (MX:GFINBURO) declined 1.29% or 0.420 points to end at 32.080 and Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB) was down 0.75% or 0.350 points to 46.250.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 80 to 42 and 5 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.18% or 2.35 to $1330.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 2.31% or 1.02 to hit $45.17 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.24% or 0.58 to trade at $47.41 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.15% to 18.5626, while EUR/MXN fell 0.22% to 20.6961.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.14% at 95.74.
