Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Materials, Financial Services and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC rose 0.05%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO), which rose 5.09% or 0.680 points to trade at 14.030 at the close. Meanwhile, Coca-Cola Femsa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:KOFL) added 3.82% or 5.470 points to end at 148.580 and Mexichem , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEXCHEM) was up 3.65% or 1.430 points to 40.610 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Empresas ICA , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICA), which fell 4.30% or 0.110 points to trade at 2.450 at the close. Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX) declined 4.07% or 1.050 points to end at 24.730 and Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB) was down 2.95% or 0.640 points to 21.050.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 84 to 83 and 9 ended unchanged.
Shares in Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 5.09% or 0.680 to 14.030.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.62% or 8.25 to $1342.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.93% or 0.81 to hit $41.11 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 1.62% or 0.71 to trade at $43.20 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.35% to 18.8920, while EUR/MXN rose 0.54% to 20.9311.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.07% at 96.68.
