Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Financial Services, Materials and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC added 0.01% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO), which rose 2.04% or 0.290 points to trade at 14.540 at the close. Meanwhile, PINFRA SAB De CV (MX:PINFRA) added 1.19% or 2.010 points to end at 170.660 and Controladora Comercial Mexicana UBC (MX:COMEUBC) was up 1.09% or 0.530 points to 49.210 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX), which fell 3.50% or 0.770 points to trade at 21.060 at the close. Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico (MX:SANMEXB) declined 3.25% or 0.940 points to end at 28.080 and Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA) was down 1.34% or 0.460 points to 33.930.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 72 to 49 and 5 ended unchanged.
Gold for August delivery was down 0.37% or 4.30 to $1170.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 1.59% or 0.92 to hit $58.92 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 1.87% or 1.16 to trade at $63.19 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 1.15% to 15.7159, while EUR/MXN rose 0.01% to 17.4633.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.95% at 96.39.
