Investing.com – Malaysia stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Plantation, Technology and Property sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Kuala Lumpur, the FTSE Malaysia KLCI declined 0.51% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the FTSE Malaysia KLCI were Genting Malaysia Bhd (KL:GENM), which rose 1.42% or 0.06 points to trade at 4.29 at the close. Meanwhile, AMMB Holdings Bhd (KL:AMMB) added 1.27% or 0.08 points to end at 6.38 and Hong Leong Financial Group Bhd (KL:HLCB) was up 1.27% or 0.20 points to 16.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Felda Global Ventures Holdings Bhd (KL:FGVH), which fell 4.48% or 0.09 points to trade at 1.92 at the close. Kuala Lumpur Kepong Bhd (KL:KLKK) declined 3.94% or 0.86 points to end at 20.98 and IHH Healthcare Bhd (KL:IHHH) was down 2.38% or 0.14 points to 5.75.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange by 381 to 189 and 43 ended unchanged.
Shares in Felda Global Ventures Holdings Bhd (KL:FGVH) fell to all time lows; losing 4.48% or 0.09 to 1.92.
Crude oil for July delivery was up 1.21% or 0.70 to $58.73 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.94% or 0.60 to hit $64.32 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.08% or 1.00 to trade at $1188.80 a troy ounce.
SGD/MYR was up 0.03% to 2.6981, while USD/MYR fell 0.11% to 3.6376.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.25% at 97.14.
