Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Financials, Industrials and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 declined 3.01%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Pirelli & C (MILAN:PECI), which rose 0.07% or 0.0100 points to trade at 14.9300 at the close. Meanwhile, Ansaldo STS (MILAN:STS) fell 0.05% or 0.01 points to end at 9.50 and World Duty Free SpA (MILAN:WDF) was down 0.10% or 0.010 points to 10.220 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Unicredit (MILAN:CRDI), which fell 4.93% or 0.2900 points to trade at 5.5950 at the close. Azimut Holding (MILAN:AZMT) declined 4.89% or 1.00 points to end at 19.47 and Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MILAN:BMPS) was down 4.80% or 0.0910 points to 1.8030.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 335 to 79 and 7 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 1.09% or 0.51 to $46.24 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 1.43% or 0.72 to hit $49.95 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.42% or 4.70 to trade at $1119.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.14% to 1.1138, while EUR/GBP rose 0.52% to 0.7328.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.03% at 96.29.
