Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Financials, Oil & Gas and Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 declined 2.45%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Moncler SpA (MI:MONC), which rose 0.96% or 0.14 points to trade at 14.72 at the close. Meanwhile, Atlantia (MI:ATL) added 0.04% or 0.01 points to end at 24.30 and Snam (MI:SRG) was down 0.09% or 0.005 points to 5.335 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MI:BMPS), which fell 7.57% or 0.0505 points to trade at 0.6170 at the close. Banco Popolare Sc (MI:BAPO) declined 7.17% or 0.4100 points to end at 5.3050 and CNH Industrial NV (MI:CNHI) was down 6.00% or 0.405 points to 6.345.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 352 to 58 and 17 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for June delivery was down 2.81% or 1.26 to $43.52 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 1.99% or 0.91 to hit $44.92 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.52% or 6.75 to trade at $1289.05 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.12% to 1.1520, while EUR/GBP rose 0.71% to 0.7917.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.29% at 92.80.
