Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Financials and Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 declined 1.75%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Leonardo Finmeccanica SpA (MI:LDOF), which rose 2.73% or 0.265 points to trade at 9.965 at the close. Meanwhile, Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MI:BMPS) added 0.10% or 0.0003 points to end at 0.2900 and Prysmian (MI:PRY) was up 0.10% or 0.02 points to 20.70 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Saipem (MI:SPMI), which fell 9.78% or 0.0430 points to trade at 0.3966 at the close. Azimut Holding (MI:AZMT) declined 9.38% or 1.48 points to end at 14.30 and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (MI:FCHA) was down 8.05% or 0.5000 points to 5.7100.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 275 to 114 and 24 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 1.91% or 0.80 to $41.12 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 1.55% or 0.68 to hit $43.23 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.48% or 6.45 to trade at $1340.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.20% to 1.1082, while EUR/GBP rose 0.79% to 0.8429.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.16% at 96.60.
