Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Financials and Utilities sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 declined 1.44% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Mediaset (MI:MS), which rose 3.02% or 0.112 points to trade at 3.820 at the close. Meanwhile, Tenaris (MI:TENR) added 2.24% or 0.2600 points to end at 11.8600 and STMicroelectronics (MI:STM) was up 0.38% or 0.018 points to 4.740 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (MI:FCHA), which fell 6.67% or 0.4500 points to trade at 6.2950 at the close. Banco Popolare Sc (MI:BAPO) declined 6.56% or 0.3020 points to end at 4.3020 and Banca Popolare di Milano Scarl (MI:PMII) was down 5.48% or 0.0295 points to 0.5085.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 263 to 133 and 19 ended unchanged.
Shares in Banco Popolare Sc (MI:BAPO) fell to all time lows; falling 6.56% or 0.3020 to 4.3020. Shares in Banca Popolare di Milano Scarl (MI:PMII) fell to 52-week lows; falling 5.48% or 0.0295 to 0.5085.
Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.96% or 0.46 to $48.18 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.59% or 0.29 to hit $49.26 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.25% or 3.15 to trade at $1277.35 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.12% to 1.1335, while EUR/GBP fell 0.41% to 0.7829.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.15% at 94.39.
