Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Telecoms and Utilities sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 fell 1.04%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Intesa Sanpaolo (MI:ISP), which rose 2.41% or 0.0540 points to trade at 2.2960 at the close. Meanwhile, Mediaset (MI:MS) added 1.15% or 0.044 points to end at 3.878 and UBI Banca (MI:UBI) was up 0.87% or 0.0300 points to 3.4740 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banca Pop Emilia Romagna (MI:EMII), which fell 4.68% or 0.216 points to trade at 4.396 at the close. Yoox Net-A-Porter Group SpA (MI:YNAP) declined 4.13% or 1.01 points to end at 23.46 and Saipem (MI:SPMI) was down 3.55% or 0.0132 points to 0.3588.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 249 to 147 and 28 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for June delivery was down 1.04% or 0.50 to $47.69 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 1.23% or 0.60 to hit $48.33 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 1.76% or 22.45 to trade at $1251.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.12% to 1.1203, while EUR/GBP fell 0.18% to 0.7670.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.11% at 95.30.
