Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Financials, Utilities and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 lost 0.93%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MI:BMPS), which rose 1.27% or 0.0030 points to trade at 0.2400 at the close. Meanwhile, Ferrari NV (MI:RACE) added 0.53% or 0.23 points to end at 43.25 and Salvatore Ferragamo (MI:SFER) was up 0.24% or 0.05 points to 20.60 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banca Pop Emilia Romagna (MI:EMII), which fell 2.97% or 0.102 points to trade at 3.332 at the close. Azimut Holding (MI:AZMT) declined 2.72% or 0.38 points to end at 13.60 and UBI Banca (MI:UBI) was down 2.02% or 0.0480 points to 2.3320.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 260 to 112 and 28 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 1.81% or 0.86 to $46.78 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 1.69% or 0.85 to hit $49.30 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.04% or 0.55 to trade at $1326.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.17% to 1.1176, while EUR/GBP rose 0.28% to 0.8547.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.20% at 95.67.
