Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Utilities, Oil & Gas and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 fell 0.85%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Prysmian (MILAN:PRY), which rose 1.28% or 0.25 points to trade at 19.73 at the close. Meanwhile, Campari (MILAN:CPRI) added 1.22% or 0.09 points to end at 7.06 and Mediobanca (MILAN:MDBI) was up 0.17% or 0.015 points to 8.980 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tenaris (MILAN:TENR), which fell 4.02% or 0.4700 points to trade at 11.2100 at the close. Moncler SpA (MILAN:MONC) declined 3.21% or 0.51 points to end at 15.38 and Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MILAN:BMPS) was down 3.20% or 0.0610 points to 1.8440.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 298 to 125 and 4 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for October delivery was up 2.63% or 1.16 to $45.31 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 1.57% or 0.74 to hit $48.33 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.77% or 8.50 to trade at $1110.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.50% to 1.1263, while EUR/GBP rose 0.01% to 0.7295.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.39% at 95.59.
