Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Financials, Industrials and Chemicals sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 fell 0.54%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Saipem (MI:SPMI), which rose 2.02% or 0.0085 points to trade at 0.4295 at the close. Meanwhile, Recordati (MI:RECI) added 1.91% or 0.53 points to end at 28.21 and Yoox Net-A-Porter Group SpA (MI:YNAP) was up 1.12% or 0.27 points to 24.29 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (MI:FCHA), which fell 3.39% or 0.2100 points to trade at 5.9900 at the close. Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MI:BMPS) declined 3.29% or 0.0110 points to end at 0.3231 and UnipolSai Assicurazioni SpA (MI:US) was down 2.21% or 0.033 points to 1.461.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 252 to 108 and 33 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.76% or 0.35 to $45.59 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.40% or 0.19 to hit $46.77 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.33% or 4.35 to trade at $1333.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.55% to 1.1015, while EUR/GBP rose 0.60% to 0.8404.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.56% at 97.10.
