Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Chemicals, Technology and Travel & Leisure sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 fell 0.41%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Luxottica Group (MI:LUX), which rose 4.41% or 1.88 points to trade at 44.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Unipol (MI:UNPI) added 1.10% or 0.030 points to end at 2.768 and Tenaris (MI:TENR) was up 0.98% or 0.13 points to 13.45 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MI:BMPS), which fell 14.99% or 0.0520 points to trade at 0.2950 at the close. Banca Pop Emilia Romagna (MI:EMII) declined 4.18% or 0.182 points to end at 4.174 and Saipem (MI:SPMI) was down 3.79% or 0.0165 points to 0.4185.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 256 to 157 and 31 ended unchanged.
Shares in Tenaris (MI:TENR) rose to 52-week highs; up 0.98% or 0.13 to 13.45.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 1.13% or 0.57 to $49.95 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 1.26% or 0.65 to hit $50.81 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.81% or 10.25 to trade at $1273.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.06% to 1.0886, while EUR/GBP rose 0.44% to 0.8931.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.06% at 98.70.
