Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Chemicals, Financials and Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 fell 0.18%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Saipem (MI:SPMI), which rose 4.44% or 0.0173 points to trade at 0.4073 at the close. Meanwhile, Campari (MI:CPRI) added 2.27% or 0.20 points to end at 8.79 and ENI (MI:ENI) was up 1.96% or 0.24 points to 12.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MI:BMPS), which fell 10.00% or 0.0280 points to trade at 0.2519 at the close. Salvatore Ferragamo (MI:SFER) declined 6.46% or 1.41 points to end at 20.40 and UBI Banca (MI:UBI) was down 4.90% or 0.1200 points to 2.3300.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 238 to 160 and 27 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for December delivery was up 4.57% or 1.98 to $45.30 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 4.21% or 1.87 to hit $46.30 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.23% or 2.75 to trade at $1224.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.10% to 1.0726, while EUR/GBP rose 0.49% to 0.8636.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.16% at 100.19.
