Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Technology and Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 declined 0.14%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Banco Popolare Sc (MI:BAPO), which rose 6.07% or 0.144 points to trade at 2.518 at the close. Meanwhile, UBI Banca (MI:UBI) added 6.00% or 0.1320 points to end at 2.3320 and Saipem (MI:SPMI) was up 2.74% or 0.0110 points to 0.4119 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Mediaset (MI:MS), which fell 3.99% or 0.108 points to trade at 2.602 at the close. Telecom Italia (MI:TLIT) declined 2.91% or 0.0210 points to end at 0.7010 and STMicroelectronics (MI:STM) was down 2.68% or 0.195 points to 7.090.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 219 to 176 and 26 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for November delivery was down 1.38% or 0.70 to $50.09 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 1.11% or 0.58 to hit $51.83 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.16% or 1.95 to trade at $1253.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.26% to 1.1025, while EUR/GBP fell 1.04% to 0.9023.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.16% at 97.88.
