Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Financials, Oil & Gas and Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the FTSE MIB fell 2.97%.
The best performers of the session on the FTSE MIB were Ansaldo STS (MILAN:STS), which fell 0.27% or 0.03 points to trade at 9.40 at the close. Meanwhile, World Duty Free SpA (MILAN:WDF) fell 0.39% or 0.040 points to end at 10.120 and Pirelli & C (MILAN:PECI) was down 0.93% or 0.14 points to 14.98 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (MILAN:FCHA), which fell 6.94% or 0.970 points to trade at 13.000 at the close. Azimut Holding (MILAN:AZMT) declined 6.52% or 1.53 points to end at 21.95 and Mediolanum (MILAN:MED) was down 4.96% or 0.375 points to 7.185.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 404 to 50 and 3 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 1.33% or 0.64 to $47.50 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 1.75% or 0.95 to hit $53.66 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.92% or 10.00 to trade at $1096.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 1.16% to 1.1112, while EUR/GBP rose 0.85% to 0.7137.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.86% at 96.51.
