Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Chemicals, Oil & Gas and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the FTSE MIB declined 2.09%.
The best performers of the session on the FTSE MIB were Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MILAN:BMPS), which unchanged 0.00% or 0.0000 points to trade at 9.4500 at the close. Meanwhile, Autogrill (MILAN:AGL) fell 0.18% or 0.01 points to end at 8.43 and World Duty Free SpA (MILAN:WDF) was down 0.39% or 0.040 points to 10.110 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Finmeccanica (MILAN:SIFI), which fell 4.46% or 0.520 points to trade at 11.150 at the close. Unicredit (MILAN:CRDI) declined 3.18% or 0.205 points to end at 6.250 and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (MILAN:FCHA) was down 3.06% or 0.440 points to 13.950.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 386 to 69 and 3 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.22% or 0.13 to $59.85 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.47% or 0.30 to hit $65.67 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.24% or 2.90 to trade at $1207.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.35% to 1.0974, while EUR/GBP fell 0.21% to 0.7095.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.25% at 96.49.
