Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Utilities, Technology and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the FTSE MIB fell 0.48%.
The best performers of the session on the FTSE MIB were Buzzi Unicem (MILAN:BZU), which rose 3.91% or 0.48 points to trade at 12.77 at the close. Meanwhile, Banca Popolare di Milano Scarl (MILAN:PMII) added 2.22% or 0.0205 points to end at 0.9460 and Banca Pop Emilia Romagna (MILAN:EMII) was up 1.14% or 0.090 points to 8.000 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Salvatore Ferragamo (MILAN:SFER), which fell 3.58% or 1.00 points to trade at 26.94 at the close. Saipem (MILAN:SPMI) declined 2.27% or 0.22 points to end at 9.47 and Prysmian (MILAN:PRY) was down 1.87% or 0.37 points to 19.38.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 246 to 212 and 2 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 1.10% or 0.64 to $58.97 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 1.94% or 1.21 to hit $63.22 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.37% or 4.40 to trade at $1174.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.79% to 1.1147, while EUR/GBP fell 0.67% to 0.7093.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.61% at 95.65.
