Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Travel & Leisure, Healthcare and Utilities sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the FTSE MIB fell 0.44%.
The best performers of the session on the FTSE MIB were Banca Monte Paschi Siena (MILAN:BMPS), which rose 1.15% or 0.0070 points to trade at 0.6180 at the close. Meanwhile, Banco Popolare Sc (MILAN:BAPO) added 0.48% or 0.0700 points to end at 14.5600 and Banca Popolare di Milano Scarl (MILAN:PMII) was down 0.89% or 0.0085 points to 0.9455 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Saipem (MILAN:SPMI), which rose 0.16% or 0.01 points to trade at 9.49 at the close. ENI (MILAN:ENI) declined 0.31% or 0.05 points to end at 16.13 and CNH Industrial NV (MILAN:CNHI) was up 0.73% or 0.055 points to 7.620.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 259 to 213 and 4 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for May delivery was down 1.64% or 0.80 to $47.88 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 1.50% or 0.84 to hit $55.45 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.15% or 1.80 to trade at $1187.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.94% to 1.0731, while EUR/GBP fell 1.18% to 0.7230.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.45% at 98.75.
