Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Financials, Oil & Gas and Utilities sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the FTSE MIB declined 0.40%.
The best performers of the session on the FTSE MIB were Salvatore Ferragamo (MILAN:SFER), which rose 4.10% or 1.20 points to trade at 30.44 at the close. Meanwhile, STMicroelectronics (MILAN:STM) added 4.05% or 0.350 points to end at 8.990 and Tod'S (MILAN:TOD) was up 3.54% or 2.95 points to 86.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banca Popolare di Milano Scarl (MILAN:PMII), which fell 3.74% or 0.0350 points to trade at 0.9005 at the close. Banca Pop Emilia Romagna (MILAN:BPEm) declined 3.46% or 0.258 points to end at 7.189 and Banco Popolare Sc (MILAN:BAPO) was down 2.76% or 0.3800 points to 13.3800.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 250 to 228 and 5 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.76% or 0.44 to $57.44 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 0.91% or 0.57 to hit $62.88 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.67% or 8.00 to trade at $1201.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.22% to 1.0761, while EUR/GBP fell 0.19% to 0.7189.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.22% at 97.94.
