Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Financials and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 rose 1.31%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Banca Pop Emilia Romagna (MI:EMII), which rose 7.01% or 0.302 points to trade at 4.612 at the close. Meanwhile, STMicroelectronics (MI:STM) added 6.22% or 0.295 points to end at 5.035 and Exor (MI:EXOR) was up 3.75% or 1.14 points to 31.51 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Anima Holding SpA (MI:ANIM), which fell 1.51% or 0.08 points to trade at 5.24 at the close. Salvatore Ferragamo (MI:SFER) declined 0.73% or 0.15 points to end at 20.27 and Ferrari NV (MI:RACE) was down 0.53% or 0.20 points to 37.61.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 229 to 166 and 19 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for June delivery was up 1.03% or 0.50 to $48.81 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.73% or 0.36 to hit $49.64 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.32% or 4.10 to trade at $1272.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.35% to 1.1273, while EUR/GBP fell 1.35% to 0.7717.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.20% at 94.74.
