Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Utilities and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 rose 1.24%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Buzzi Unicem (MI:BZU), which rose 3.88% or 0.63 points to trade at 16.85 at the close. Meanwhile, Yoox Net-A-Porter Group SpA (MI:YNAP) added 3.32% or 0.78 points to end at 24.28 and Prysmian (MI:PRY) was up 3.14% or 0.64 points to 21.05 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MI:BMPS), which fell 3.17% or 0.0190 points to trade at 0.5800 at the close. Banco Popolare Sc (MI:BAPO) declined 3.12% or 0.1560 points to end at 4.8400 and Anima Holding SpA (MI:ANIM) was down 2.36% or 0.13 points to 5.37.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 229 to 174 and 16 ended unchanged.
Shares in Anima Holding SpA (MI:ANIM) fell to 52-week lows; falling 2.36% or 0.13 to 5.37.
Crude oil for June delivery was up 2.39% or 1.04 to $44.48 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 3.80% or 1.66 to hit $45.29 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.34% or 4.35 to trade at $1262.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.01% to 1.1383, while EUR/GBP fell 0.24% to 0.7880.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.04% at 94.18.
