Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Healthcare, Oil & Gas and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 added 1.23%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Saipem (MI:SPMI), which rose 7.88% or 0.0260 points to trade at 0.3560 at the close. Meanwhile, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (MI:FCHA) added 5.85% or 0.4000 points to end at 7.2400 and Mediaset (MI:MS) was up 5.76% or 0.200 points to 3.674 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were UBI Banca (MI:UBI), which fell 3.97% or 0.1400 points to trade at 3.3840 at the close. Unicredit (MI:CRDI) declined 3.43% or 0.1160 points to end at 3.2700 and Banco Popolare Sc (MI:BAPO) was down 3.15% or 0.2100 points to 6.4600.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 283 to 125 and 23 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for May delivery was up 0.65% or 0.25 to $38.53 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 1.00% or 0.40 to hit $40.25 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.69% or 8.60 to trade at $1228.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.27% to 1.1324, while EUR/GBP rose 0.17% to 0.7873.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.30% at 94.88.
