Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Financials and Chemicals sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 gained 0.53% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Mediaset (MI:MS), which rose 3.97% or 0.174 points to trade at 4.558 at the close. Meanwhile, Mediolanum (MI:MED) added 2.75% or 0.190 points to end at 7.095 and UBI Banca (MI:UBI) was up 1.97% or 0.1350 points to 6.9800 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Salvatore Ferragamo (MI:SFER), which fell 5.49% or 1.38 points to trade at 23.75 at the close. CNH Industrial NV (MI:CNHI) declined 3.82% or 0.235 points to end at 5.915 and Saipem (MI:SPMI) was down 3.31% or 0.2850 points to 8.3150.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 257 to 180 and 1 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.73% or 0.34 to $46.72 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.41% or 0.20 to hit $49.94 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.48% or 5.70 to trade at $1181.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.11% to 1.1375, while EUR/GBP rose 0.04% to 0.7365.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.20% at 94.64.
