Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Chemicals, Travel & Leisure and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 rose 0.41%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Mediolanum (MILAN:MED), which rose 4.46% or 0.310 points to trade at 7.255 at the close. Meanwhile, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (MILAN:FCHA) added 3.94% or 0.5100 points to end at 13.4600 and Tenaris (MILAN:TENR) was up 2.76% or 0.3300 points to 12.2800 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Prysmian (MILAN:PRY), which fell 3.01% or 0.59 points to trade at 18.99 at the close. Atlantia (MILAN:ATL) declined 0.93% or 0.23 points to end at 24.38 and Buzzi Unicem (MILAN:BZU) was down 0.92% or 0.14 points to 15.15.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 261 to 166 and 9 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 3.39% or 1.62 to $49.43 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 3.44% or 1.76 to hit $53.09 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.50% or 5.80 to trade at $1142.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.40% to 1.1283, while EUR/GBP rose 0.37% to 0.7363.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.28% at 95.39.
