Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Utilities, Financials and Travel & Leisure sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 added 0.29%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (MI:FCHA), which rose 4.37% or 0.260 points to trade at 6.210 at the close. Meanwhile, Banco Popolare Sc (MI:BAPO) added 3.50% or 0.090 points to end at 2.660 and Unipol (MI:UNPI) was up 2.89% or 0.080 points to 2.848 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MI:BMPS), which fell 8.64% or 0.0255 points to trade at 0.2695 at the close. Saipem (MI:SPMI) declined 2.99% or 0.0125 points to end at 0.4060 and Tenaris (MI:TENR) was down 2.90% or 0.39 points to 13.06.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 224 to 186 and 32 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 1.16% or 0.58 to $49.38 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 1.44% or 0.73 to hit $50.06 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.40% or 5.05 to trade at $1268.55 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.23% to 1.0914, while EUR/GBP fell 0.10% to 0.8925.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.11% at 98.58.
