Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms, Chemicals and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 gained 0.26%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Banco Popolare Sc (MI:BAPO), which rose 3.00% or 0.1340 points to trade at 4.6040 at the close. Meanwhile, Telecom Italia (MI:TLIT) added 2.95% or 0.0250 points to end at 0.8725 and Buzzi Unicem (MI:BZU) was up 2.34% or 0.39 points to 17.03 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Yoox Net-A-Porter Group SpA (MI:YNAP), which fell 3.00% or 0.78 points to trade at 25.20 at the close. Exor (MI:EXOR) declined 2.74% or 0.88 points to end at 31.25 and Anima Holding SpA (MI:ANIM) was down 2.24% or 0.12 points to 5.46.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 206 to 191 and 15 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for June delivery was up 3.22% or 1.49 to $47.70 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 2.66% or 1.27 to hit $49.10 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.31% or 4.00 to trade at $1276.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.17% to 1.1332, while EUR/GBP fell 0.06% to 0.7865.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.16% at 94.45.
