Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms, Financials and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 added 0.23% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Generali (MI:GASI), which rose 2.37% or 0.27 points to trade at 11.64 at the close. Meanwhile, Leonardo Finmeccanica SpA (MI:LDOF) added 2.33% or 0.240 points to end at 10.530 and Telecom Italia (MI:TLIT) was up 2.30% or 0.0165 points to 0.7325 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banca Popolare di Milano Scarl (MI:PMII), which fell 3.02% or 0.0128 points to trade at 0.4113 at the close. Campari (MI:CPRI) declined 2.32% or 0.23 points to end at 9.47 and Recordati (MI:RECI) was down 2.11% or 0.58 points to 26.95.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 204 to 192 and 29 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for November delivery was down 1.29% or 0.65 to $49.70 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 1.17% or 0.61 to hit $51.34 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.09% or 1.15 to trade at $1256.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.22% to 1.0996, while EUR/GBP rose 0.21% to 0.9022.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.18% at 97.90.
