Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Utilities, Oil & Gas and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the FTSE MIB added 2.06%.
The best performers of the session on the FTSE MIB were Yoox (MILAN:YOOX), which rose 5.06% or 1.38 points to trade at 28.66 at the close. Meanwhile, Moncler SpA (MILAN:MONC) added 4.50% or 0.71 points to end at 16.49 and Mediobanca (MILAN:MDBI) was up 4.19% or 0.360 points to 8.960 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banca Monte Paschi Siena (MILAN:BMPS), which fell 1.33% or 0.0080 points to trade at 0.5920 at the close. UBI Banca (MILAN:UBI) declined 0.35% or 0.025 points to end at 7.200 and Ansaldo STS (MILAN:STS) was down 0.21% or 0.02 points to 9.48.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 381 to 97 and 8 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.58% or 0.34 to $59.28 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 0.34% or 0.23 to hit $65.31 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.44% or 5.20 to trade at $1187.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.33% to 1.1229, while EUR/GBP fell 1.65% to 0.7267.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.01% at 94.74.
