Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Healthcare, Chemicals and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the FTSE MIB rose 1.20%.
The best performers of the session on the FTSE MIB were Banca Monte Paschi Siena (MILAN:BMPS), which rose 1.08% or 0.0065 points to trade at 0.6105 at the close. Meanwhile, Banco Popolare Sc (MILAN:BAPO) added 0.73% or 0.1050 points to end at 14.4950 and Banca Popolare di Milano Scarl (MILAN:PMII) was up 1.01% or 0.0095 points to 0.9525 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Saipem (MILAN:SPMI), which unchanged 0.03% or 0.00 points to trade at 9.49 at the close. ENI (MILAN:ENI) added 0.81% or 0.13 points to end at 16.17 and CNH Industrial NV (MILAN:CNHI) was up 1.20% or 0.090 points to 7.565.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 369 to 103 and 3 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for May delivery was down 1.08% or 0.53 to $48.34 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 1.50% or 0.84 to hit $55.56 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 1.33% or 16.00 to trade at $1184.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.61% to 1.0824, while EUR/GBP fell 0.06% to 0.7308.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.66% at 98.26.
