Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Technology, Utilities and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the FTSE MIB rose 0.37%.
The best performers of the session on the FTSE MIB were Banca Monte Paschi Siena (MILAN:BMPS), which fell 0.90% or 0.0055 points to trade at 0.6040 at the close. Meanwhile, Banco Popolare Sc (MILAN:BAPO) fell 0.35% or 0.0500 points to end at 14.3900 and Banca Popolare di Milano Scarl (MILAN:PMII) was down 1.31% or 0.0125 points to 0.9430 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Saipem (MILAN:SPMI), which fell 1.61% or 0.15 points to trade at 9.49 at the close. ENI (MILAN:ENI) added 0.31% or 0.05 points to end at 16.04 and CNH Industrial NV (MILAN:CNHI) was up 0.40% or 0.030 points to 7.475.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 258 to 206 and 7 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for May delivery was down 3.07% or 1.58 to $49.85 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 2.53% or 1.50 to hit $57.70 a barrel, while the April Gold contract fell 0.43% or 5.20 to trade at $1199.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.20% to 1.0906, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.7330.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.03% at 97.51.
