Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Financials and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the FTSE MIB gained 0.32%.
The best performers of the session on the FTSE MIB were Unicredit (MILAN:CRDI), which rose 3.37% or 0.205 points to trade at 6.290 at the close. Meanwhile, STMicroelectronics (MILAN:STM) added 3.06% or 0.275 points to end at 9.265 and Moncler SpA (MILAN:MONC) was up 2.61% or 0.42 points to 16.54 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tod'S (MILAN:TOD), which fell 2.60% or 2.25 points to trade at 84.15 at the close. Salvatore Ferragamo (MILAN:SFER) declined 1.68% or 0.51 points to end at 29.93 and Buzzi Unicem (MILAN:BZU) was down 1.33% or 0.19 points to 14.11.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 290 to 185 and 4 ended unchanged.
Shares in STMicroelectronics (MILAN:STM) rose to 3-years highs; gaining 3.06% or 0.275 to 9.265.
Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.42% or 0.24 to $56.37 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 1.22% or 0.76 to hit $62.84 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 1.25% or 15.00 to trade at $1188.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.15% to 1.0720, while EUR/GBP fell 0.76% to 0.7137.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.08% at 98.28.
