Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Technology, Financials and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the FTSE MIB added 0.25%.
The best performers of the session on the FTSE MIB were Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MILAN:BMPS), which rose 3.78% or 0.0650 points to trade at 1.7850 at the close. Meanwhile, STMicroelectronics (MILAN:STM) added 2.99% or 0.215 points to end at 7.395 and Azimut Holding (MILAN:AZMT) was up 2.53% or 0.62 points to 25.08 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Autogrill (MILAN:AGL), which fell 2.83% or 0.22 points to trade at 7.56 at the close. Finmeccanica (MILAN:SIFI) declined 2.37% or 0.270 points to end at 11.140 and Telecom Italia (MILAN:TLIT) was down 1.43% or 0.016 points to 1.105.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 237 to 232 and 5 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.70% or 0.42 to $60.42 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.37% or 0.23 to hit $63.72 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.42% or 5.00 to trade at $1180.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.48% to 1.1231, while EUR/GBP fell 0.70% to 0.7182.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.29% at 95.34.
