Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Chemicals, Technology and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the FTSE MIB rose 0.18%.
The best performers of the session on the FTSE MIB were Salvatore Ferragamo (MILAN:SFER), which rose 3.66% or 1.01 points to trade at 28.57 at the close. Meanwhile, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (MILAN:FCHA) added 3.66% or 0.510 points to end at 14.460 and Finmeccanica (MILAN:SIFI) was up 2.96% or 0.330 points to 11.480 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MILAN:BMPS), which fell 16.82% or 0.3600 points to trade at 1.7800 at the close. Enel Green Power (MILAN:EGPW) declined 1.72% or 0.029 points to end at 1.653 and Saipem (MILAN:SPMI) was down 1.07% or 0.13 points to 11.97.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 284 to 183 and 7 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for July delivery was down 2.56% or 1.53 to $58.19 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 2.80% or 1.83 to hit $63.69 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 1.45% or 17.50 to trade at $1187.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.87% to 1.0883, while EUR/GBP fell 0.39% to 0.7068.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.89% at 97.32.
