Investing.com – Israel stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Banking, Financials and Communication sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Tel Aviv, the TA 25 lost 0.09%.
The best performers of the session on the TA 25 were Melisron (TA:MLSR), which rose 1.75% or 230 points to trade at 13410 at the close. Meanwhile, Perrigo (TA:PRGO) added 1.55% or 750 points to end at 49070 and Israel Corp (TA:ILCO) was up 1.37% or 860 points to 63790 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were OPKO Health Inc (TA:OPK), which fell 6.34% or 260 points to trade at 3840 at the close. Leumi (TA:LUMI) declined 0.66% or 9 points to end at 1356 and First International Bank of Israel (TA:FTIN) was down 0.66% or 31 points to 4659.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange by 209 to 154 and 89 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for May delivery was up 2.95% or 1.13 to $39.41 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 2.84% or 1.13 to hit $40.98 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.18% or 2.20 to trade at $1235.30 a troy ounce.
USD/ILS was down 0.62% to 3.7810, while EUR/ILS fell 0.07% to 4.2932.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.56% at 94.64.
