Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Real Estate, Power and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 added 0.03%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index gained 0.01%.
The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Vedanta Ltd (NS:VDAN), which rose 4.01% or 4.00 points to trade at 103.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. (NS:ZEE) added 2.44% or 9.90 points to end at 414.90 and Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (NS:KTKM) was up 2.24% or 15.70 points to 717.15 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Idea Cellular Ltd (NS:IDEA), which fell 6.28% or 7.95 points to trade at 118.55 at the close. HCL Technologies Ltd (NS:HCLT) declined 6.20% or 49.60 points to end at 750.30 and Bharti Airtel Ltd. (NS:BRTI) was down 2.44% or 9.10 points to 363.60.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Vedanta Ltd (BO:VDAN) which rose 3.75% to 103.75, Cipla Ltd. (BO:CIPL) which was up 1.89% to settle at 537.00 and HDFC Bank Ltd. (BO:HDBK) which gained 1.69% to close at 1133.45.
The worst performers were Bharti Airtel Ltd (BO:BRTI) which was down 2.32% to 363.65 in late trade, State Bank Of India (BO:SBI) which lost 1.67% to settle at 188.95 and Reliance Industries Ltd (BO:RELI) which was down 1.48% to 982.55 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 780 to 629 and 84 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 437 fell and 372 advanced, while 35 ended unchanged.
Shares in HCL Technologies Ltd (NS:HCLT) fell to 52-week lows; down 6.20% or 49.60 to 750.30. Shares in HDFC Bank Ltd. (BO:HDBK) rose to all time highs; up 1.69% or 18.85 to 1133.45.
The India Vix, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 0.36% to 16.5375.
Gold for June delivery was up 1.10% or 13.95 to $1280.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.96% or 0.44 to hit $46.47 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.52% or 0.25 to trade at $48.02 a barrel.
USD/INR was down 0.01% to 66.395, while EUR/INR rose 0.33% to 75.6370.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.38% at 93.37.
